The first edition of the fossil fair was organized in 2011 as a local initiative in Belgium. The goal was to bring together fossil enthusiasts from all over the country. From the beginning we were very strict: only fossils and related material were allowed. Forgeries, material from protected areas, minerals, jewelry, corals, shells, etc. were actively prohibited. This approach proved very successful and soon we had to move to larger venues. Other associations joined in and the name "PaleoTime" was chosen. In 2016, the first PaleoTime edition was organized in the Netherlands. Since then, we have been using the names "PaleoTime-Be" (Belgium) and "PaleoTime-NL" (Netherlands). |
